Sample Web Access Log Reports

The following web access reports have been prepared using your server's log data:

The Analog reports have been prepared using Analog 5. For more information on what these reports reveal (and what they don't reveal), see the What The Results Mean section of the Analog documentation. For full Analog documentation, click here.

Analog is free, and is available for PC, Mac and Linux/Unix. Click here for download information.

If you wish, you can set up Analog on your own computer, download your log reports from ftp:///logs/ and define your own custom reports. (Note: you will need to log on to your server using your username and password in order to access your log files).

You can also purchase commercial software to analyze your logs. Your logs are in standard "combined" log format, with browser and referer information included, and should work with any popular log analyzer.

Old logs are kept on the server for one year. Log files are "rotated" one the first of each month; the most recent past-month file is named "access_log.0.gz". Old log files are compressed with UNIX gzip, and can be decompressed on Macs or Windows PCs using StuffIt Expander or on Windows PCs using WinZip.
